Anna Snoekstra is an internationally bestselling author and screenwriter based in Naarm/Melbourne, Australia. Known for her incisive explorations of psychological suspense and layered female characters, her fiction has been published in over twenty countries and translated into sixteen languages.

Anna’s debut novel, Only Daughter (2016), introduced readers to her tense, emotionally astute storytelling. It was followed by Little Secrets (2017), The Spite Game (2018) and Out of Breath (2022) which further established her reputation for gripping and socially conscious thrillers. Her most recent novel, The Ones We Love (2025), centers on a family unraveling under the weight of secrets, trauma, and simmering resentments. With sharp prose and intimate emotional insight, the novel explores the full spectrum of love and what happens when it’s tested.

Beyond her novels, Anna is an accomplished screenwriter and audio storyteller. Her first audio original drama, This Isn’t Happening (Audible, 2023), showcased her ability to craft immersive, character-driven narratives across formats using immersive sound design to tell a story in real-time. Her next audio novella, The End of The Ski Season (Penguin Random House Audio) will be released in October 2025. She also contributes widely to journalism and cultural commentary, with bylines in The Guardian, The Saturday Paper, The Sydney Morning Herald, Meanjin, Kill Your Darlings, and CrimeReads.

Anna teaches fiction at RMIT University. She regularly appears at literary festivals, panels, and workshops, where she speaks on topics ranging from psychological suspense to the writing process and the evolving role of women in contemporary storytelling.
